GUJRANWALA, July 26: The son of Sindh IGP Ziaul Hassan had a narrow escape in an attempt on his life in Noshera Virkan on Thursday. Reports said that Zohair Zia Manj was present at a public meeting in connection with his election campaign when five armed men opened fire on him. Zohair’s guards returned the fire and managed to catch one of the assailants, identified as Ejaz Ahmed, a gunman of Zohair’s political opponent MPA Amanat Virk.

The accused was handed over to police.
