PESHAWAR, July 25: Federal Minister for Political Affairs Amir Muqam has ordered completion of all ongoing development projects in the NWFP and warned that no excuse about scarcity of funds will be accepted in this regard.

Presiding over a meeting of officials of different government departments at Wapda House here on Wednesday, he said the federal government was providing billions of rupees for completion of different development projects in the province.

Minister of State for Finance Umar Ayub Khan and provincial Pakistan Muslim League general secretary MPA Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani also attended the meeting which reviewed the progress on development schemes launched by the federal government.

Mr Muqam said the Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway, costing up to Rs20 billion, would be completed during the current calendar year.

He said the NCC road, Chakdara-Kalam road and Khawazakhela-Bisham road would also be completed in time.

He held out assurance about release of funds for projects launched for providing gas and electricity in different parts of the province.

He said federal government was establishing a network of utility stores for providing edible items to people at controlled rates. He said measures were being taken for providing job opportunities to unemployed youth.—APP
