RAWALPINDI, July 25: Justice Sajjad Hussain Shah of the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi bench here on Wednesday ordered the station house officer (SHO) of Airport police station to produce three children of Shaheen Kausar in the court on July 26.

Maj Mehmood Akhtar had divorced his wife Shaheen Kausar, a schoolteacher, and kept the children with him.

Ms Kausar filed a case on July 20 to obtain custody of her three children — an 11-year-old girl, a nine-year-old boy and a five-year-old girl — from her ex-husband.

On the last hearing, the court asked the SHO to serve notice on Maj Mehmood. The SHO told the court on July 25 that when he went to serve the notice on the army officer in his unit, the personnel present there prevented him and told him that they would give the notice themselves.

Mohammad Safeer Mughal, the lawyer of Shaheen Kausar, told the court that he had seen Maj Mehmood on the court premises.

On this, the judge asked the SHO to bring Mr Mehmood to the court.

However, when the official did not return till 1pm, the judge ordered the police to produce the three children in court on Thursday.
