NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, July 23: People who sacrificed their plots for a school staged demonstration in Moro against the Education Department on Monday. Led by Abdul Khaliq Korai, Mohammad Usman Solangi, Ali Mohammad Korai and Haji Azeem Korai who had donated their plots for construction of primary schools for girls complained against the officers of Education Department who at the time had promised to give posts of peon and watchman to their children.

They said their sons appeared in interviews but were deprived of jobs while people appointed two days back belonged to other areas. They demanded cancellation of appointments of people from other UCs and further called upon the education authorities to fulfil their promise by giving these posts to the children of people who had donated their plots.

Executive District Officer Education, Rasool Bux Shah told Dawn that the letters were issued by former EDO Education Miandad Rahujo with the approval of chief minister.

Rally against SHO

Chowkidars and other employees of Food Department took out a rally from District Food Controller Office to press club on Monday in protest against beating and fracturing the legs of a chowkidar by the SHO, in Khairpur.

After marching on different roads protesters reached outside the press club. They complained that the SHO Khairpur severely beat up Chowkidar Food Department Khairpur, Fazal Hussain and broke his legs without any reason. They demanded the higher authorities to take action against the SHO.

Thanksgiving

Lawyers in Naushahro Feroze, Moro, Kandiaro and Bhirya offered prayers on reinstatement of the CJP, on Monday.

Lawyers in Naushahro Feroze were led by the DBA President Haji Khan Panhwar in Kandiaro by lawyers forum (PPP) Sadruddin Ujjan, in Bhirya by Abdul Salam Luhrani and in Moro by Subhan Ali Zardari.

Protest against police

Citizens of Moro, including lawyers took out a rally on Monday to protest the police refusal to lodge a robbery FIR.

More than 100 citizens including lawyers, led by Chairman Citizen Committee, Shoaib Abbasi, advocates Subhan Zardari, Mir Nawaz Kalhoro, Suleman Qurban Memon, Mehboob Dongeh, and Mazhar Kalhoro took out a rally and staged demonstration outside the police station.

Later, protesters reached opposite local press club and observed sit-in for one and a half hours.
