Old vehicles import

Published July 24, 2007

ISLAMABAD, July 23: The ministry of commerce has allowed import of five- year old used vehicles by overseas Pakistanis till the end of the current month. The ministry had issued a notification by amending the earlier notification to restrict the import of used cars only now to three years, which would now be effective from August 1, 2007.

The government in the budget had reduced the import of used vehicles from five years to three years, which was supposed to come into effect from July 1, 2007.

The one month extension in import of five-year old cars would only help facilitate those importers, whose vehicles are in the pipeline.
