LAYYAH, July 22: Seven people were killed and 25 injured when a passenger van collided with a coach on Mianwali-Multan Road, 27km east of Layyah.

The Multan-bound van collided with the Mianwali-bound coach near Gola Adda at about 9:30am while trying to save a donkey cart. Four men, including the van driver, died at the scene, a woman and a man died at the Chowk Azam Rural Health Centre, while another man succumbed to his injuries at the Layyah District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital.

The injured were taken to the rural heath centre from where they were taken to the DHQ Hospital on private vehicles because the centre’s ambulance driver was absent.
