Published July 21, 2007

LAHORE, July 20: The Punjab Bar Council (PBC) has decided to observe Saturday as thanksgiving day across the province. A decision to this effect was taken at a PBC meeting here on Friday. The meeting decided that lawyers would not only offer thanksgiving prayers, but also hold special sessions at barrooms to renew their pledge to continue their struggle for the restoration of democracy and the constitution and elimination of dictatorship.

The PBC demanded that President Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and Law Minister Wasi Zafar resign immediately after dismissal of their reference and restoration of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.
