RAWALPINDI, March 8: A high level delegation of People’s Liberation Army (PLA), headed by Gen Xiong Guangkai, the deputy chief of General Staff, held a meeting on Sino-Pak defence and security-related issues at the Joint Staff Headquarters here on Friday.

Besides discussing matters of mutual interest, the delegation expressed hope for enhancement of mutual assistance in various fields and defence cooperation.

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Mohammad Aziz Khan, Chief of General Staff Pakistan Army Lt-Gen Shahid Aziz, Secretary Defence Production Division Air Vice Marshal (Rtd) Zahid Anees and senior officers of the armed forces also attended the meeting.

Later, the delegation proceeded to National Defence College, Islamabad, where it called on Commandant NDC Lt GenJaved Hassan.—APP
