LARKANA, July 19: A large number of people from five villages demonstrated in front of the office of superintendent engineer of Rice Canal against closure Aabro Wah. The protestors led by Arbab Malgani and Anwar Janveri staged a sit-in and blocked the VIP road seeking release of water into Abro Wah, the main irrigation artery of Rice Canal.

They feared that channel’s closure would ruin paddy crop sown on hundreds of acres of land and alleged that an irrigation official was demanding bribe in return for releasing water into the channel.

They dispersed after the DSP of the city assured them of helping solve their problem.
