PESHAWAR, July 17: Vice-Chief of Army Staff Gen Ahsan Saleem Hyat visited the Corps Headquarters and held a meeting with Corps Commander Lt-Gen Muhammad Masood Aslam here on Tuesday.

Gen Hyat was briefed on the prevailing security situation and the development work being undertaken by the army for the socio-economic uplift of the people of the Federally-Administered Tribal Areas (Fata).

The vice-chief of army staff expressed satisfaction over operational preparedness of the troops and paid tribute to the security forces for their sacrifices for the defence of the country.

Gen Hyat also met Governor Lt-Gen Ali Muhammad Jan Aurakzai and discussed with him matters of mutual interest.

Later, he visited the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) and inquired after the health of soldiers injured in recent terrorist attacks.
