LAHORE, July 16: Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik, lauding Geoff Lawson’s appointment as Pakistan coach, said it was a tough decision for the Pakistan Cricket Board but was made correctly and will help the team flourish.

“It is a positive decision and will help the players. As for Lawson’s expertise, I feel he can do a good job with both bowlers and the batsmen because the batsmen do not need basic level coaching and just need to hone their skills,” he said.

Team manger Talat Ali also hailed the decision, saying it was taken after thorough discussion and Lawson’s experience could benefit the team.
