KARACHI, July 15: Two women and a man were killed in separate incidents in the city on Sunday. A man killed his wife by slitting her throat while she was asleep in Gadap Town early Sunday morning.

Police said Channasar Khan slit the throat of his wife Radha, 28, on the premises of the farmhouse where they were employed. Following the incident the suspect escaped, leaving his wife in a pool of blood.

Police have registered a case against the victim’s husband. However, it is not clear what drove Channasar to kill his wife, a duty officer at the Gadap police station said.

Mysterious death

In another incident, a housewife, Shazia, 32, died in what police described as mysterious circumstances in the Kalri police limits on Sunday.

Police said the woman was found dead in her house in Agra Taj Colony. However, there were no visible marks of injury on the body. The body was brought to the Civil Hospital, where a postmortem was carried out and its report was reserved.

Police said members of the bereaved family suspected Basharat’s, the victim’s husband, hand in the death and police had detained him for questioning.

Honour killing?

A 35-year-old man was killed by three men in Site on Sunday.

Police said a woman had accompanied Muhammad Pehlawan on his return from Punjab a few days back.

On Sunday, three men said to be cousins of the woman came to the house of Pehlawan in New Mianwali Colony and killed him, taking the woman with them. Police said it seemed that the woman had eloped with the man.

Police have registered a case against the suspects and are investigating the case.
