War games conclude

ISLAMABAD, July 14: President Gen Pervez Musharraf has said that armed forces of Pakistan are the guarantors of peace in the region. Speaking at the concluding session of military exercises code-named Flash Point-2 at the National Defence University on Saturday, he said Pakistan was a responsible nuclear power which believed in deterring war and promoting peace.

The joint services war games were conducted to validate the country’s conventional and nuclear deterrence.

Senior officers and formations from the three services, strategic plans division and strategic forces participated in the exercises.
