Man shot at after resistance

LAHORE, July 14: Two men allegedly shot at a citizen on resistance in Mozang on Saturday. A police source said the accused, riding a bike, stopped Muzaffar at gunpoint near Bhondpura Chowk and demanded his cell phone. On resistance, they shot at him and went away without the mobile set.

The injured was rushed to the Services Hospital.

Mozang SHO Abid Rasheed, however, claimed that one Akhtar shot at his old friend Muzaffar of Ghakkar at Bhondpura main bazaar over demanding his money worth Rs200,000 back.

He said Muzaffar, a seminary student, had come along with his class fellows to take his money from Akhtar.

Komal was on her way when two gun-totting men stopped her at Liaquat Chowk in Sabzazar and deprived her of Rs6,000, a cell phone and jewellery.

Two dacoits came to a citizen in front of a bakery in Sherakot and robbed him of Rs3,000 and a cell phone.

Two bandits came to Anwar’s junkyard in front of Shah Noor Studio in Iqbal Town and snatched Rs100,000 at gunpoint. Two armed men came to Mohsin in Qilla Gujjar Singh and deprived him of Rs40,000 and a cell phone.

THEFT: Thieves broke into a mobiles shop at Chowk Yateem Khana in Nawankot and made off with cash, calling cards and cell phones worth hundreds of thousands of rupees.

In another incident, thieves broke into a shop in Malik Plaza at Liaquat Chowk in Sabzazar and took away valuables.

LIFTED: A pickup was lifted from Iqbal Town and seven motorcycles from Millat Park, Gulberg, Ichhra, Iqbal Town, Gulshan Ravi, Baghbanpura and Civil Lines.
