MUZAFFARGARH, July 14: Two family members were killed and another three sustained injuries when the roof of their house collapsed on them at Odewala on Friday night.

Reports said that the gusty wind followed by heavy rain that continued for some one hour resulted in the collapse of a room of Omer Din’s house, leaving all inmates trapped under the debris. Neighbours reached the spot, pulled them out from the debris and rushed them to the DHQ Hospital where Asghar and Nasim Bibi were received dead. Rani was shifted to Nishtar Hospital, Multan, in serious condition. The two other injured - Marriyam and Omer Din were being treated at local hospital.

Meanwhile, the rain and windstorm that brought down several trees disrupted power supply as the city has been without electricity for the last 14 hours.

Mepco XEN Chaudhry Aslam said he had dispatched teams for the restoration work.
