LAHORE, July 12: Police on Thursday arrested two men for thrashing a Child Protection Welfare Bureau team in Shafiqabad. According to the first information report, a bureau team on its routine rescue operation reached an intersection at Shafiqabad and rescued two beggar children. Two men, later identified as Nadeem and Arshad, stopped the bureau team from taking the children away that led to a scuffle. Nadeem and Arshad called their accomplices who thrashed the team.

In the meantime, a team member called police, which arrested Nadeem and Arshad and registered a case against them. The police said the accused forced the children into beggary. —Staff Reporter
