MIANWALI, July 12: The district administration is converting the sheds reserved for litigants in the district courts to a car parking lot for its officials. Reports said that these sheds were erected decades back for the convenience of litigants. To park their cars under the shade to save them from the vagaries of the weather, the district administration has started modification of the sheds without providing alternative place for litigants.
A delegation of lawyers, headed by Malik Muhammad Akram Awan and bar president Malik Muhammad Rafique, met Mianwali District Coordination Officer (DCO) Shafi Babar and apprised him of the situation.
The DCO told lawyers that the facility was being withdrawn because of threats from terrorists to plant bombs at public places.
Mr Baber later visited the site along with bar members and assured them that the facility would be restored for litigants. But the work on the parking lot is still continuing.
