GUJRANWALA, July 12: The City District Government Gujranwala (CDG-G) has started audit of educational institutions and departments while auditors have raised over-all 155 objections regarding misuse of powers and funds without any approval from the respective authorities.

A source told this correspondent here on Thursday that scores of educational institutions and offices had used funds of hundreds of thousands of rupees without getting any prior approval from the finance department.

Following the submission of the local government auditors’ report to CDG-G, District Coordination Officer Ather Syal convened a meeting of education officers in which EDO Raja Khadim Husain, district officers, secondary and elementary schools deputy district officers and principals/headmasters of educational institutions participated.

They were asked to rectify their accounts following removal of objections till July 16.

The CDG-G will recommend stern action against the offices and schools in case they failed to remove objections.
