KOHAT, July 11: MNA Mufti Ibrar Sultan and other leaders of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal have said that the Lal Masjid operation and killing of Maulana Abdul Rashid Ghazi has pushed the country into deep sorrow and people are now demanding the ouster of President General Pervez Musharraf.

They were speaking at a protest meeting called here to condemn the Lal Masjid operation on Wednesday.

Mufti Ibrar said that rulers had been holding negotiations with India on the Kashmir issue despite this fact that there had been little progress. But when it came to dealing with its own people--whether they are tribesmen or clerics--they always lost patience and used force.

Jamil Ahmed, Maulana Abdul Hayee, Dr Fana, Pir Faheem and other leaders said the gulf between the army and people was widening.Earlier, the protesters took out a procession and chanted slogans against President Musharraf and the US while passing through various roads in town.
