KARACHI, July 11: The special judge of the anti-corruption court here has convicted and sentenced officials of the defunct KDA for their involvement in the illegal allotment of a plot in North Karachi.

The convicts are: Muniruddin Agha, assistant director of the KDA; Nizamuddin, additional director, KDA; Khursheed, senior clerk, KDA, and a co-accused Shoukat Ali.

They had connived to allot plot N-526, sector 7/C, North Karachi Township, in the name of a fake person and subsequently its transfer in the name of co-accused Shoukat Ali.

The anti-corruption court sentenced the accused under Section 468 of the PPC and awarded them rigorous imprisonment for five years and imposed a fine of Rs100,000 each. In case of non-payment of the fine, they will have to suffer R.I. for six more months.—PPI
