Man kills brother

LAHORE, July 10: A 35-year-old man was axed to death allegedly by his brother over a property dispute in Shahdara Town early on Tuesday.

Shahdara Town SHO Mazhar Iqbal told this reporter that Tahir Rafique and his elder brother Saleem Raza were labourers and living with their mother Nazir Bibi in Qaiser Town.

He said Tahir was demanding his share of house out of his father’s property besides conducting his marriage, which Saleem refused.

Both had an argument and quarrelled a few days back but their mother reconciled them.

On Tuesday, Saleem attacked Tahir with an axe when he was asleep on his rooftop and escaped after leaving the weapon in his brother’s skull. Later, Nazir Bibi found her son dead in a pool of blood and informed the police.

The body was shifted for autopsy. A case was registered against Saleem on the complaint of Nazir Bibi.
