NAWABSHAH, July 9: A large number of Baitul Maal beneficiaries demonstrated against the non-payment of grant outside the press club, on Monday. Protesters including old men and women blocked the road and raised slogans against the officials of Baitul Maal and post-office Nawabshah.

Protesters Aachar Ali, Malookan, Zainab, Zubaida, Razia Awan and others informed the reporters that they had been leading miserable lives because they had not been paid money since the last one year.

They said that recently they had been called by the Baitul Maal officials and given letters for funds but when they approached the post office they faced refusal due to the unavailability of lists.

Post Master Abdul Wahab Shaikh said the lists they received from the local Baitul Maal office carried mistakes which they returned.

He said the beneficiaries were also creating problems for post office against which letters were sent to zila nazim, Faryal Talpur and the DCO Nawabshah, besides one to local Baitul Maal office.

No Baitul Maal official was available for comments.

Administrative officer to Zila Nazim informed the office had so far not received any letter from post office.
