KARACHI, July 8: The duo of M.A. Ansari and Masood Mazher won the quarterly KC Open pairs’ bridge contest which concluded at the Karachi Club.

The second position went to Tehseen Gheewala and Hasan Askari while Anwar Kamal and Ghulam Mohammad finished third.

According to bridge secretary of the KC, Raza Naqvi, over 50 players participated in the contest which has been introduced for the first time.

Two more quarterly contests will be staged in the second half of the year.

The winning pair will receive a purse of Rs10,000, the runners-up Rs6,000 and third position holders Rs4,000. The prize distribution will be held on Tuesday.
