Three suicides

LAHORE, July 8: Three people committed suicide in separate incidents on Sunday. Ghalib Market police said trader Shujauddin, 42, shot himself to death over financial constraints at T-Block, Gulberg.

Shuja was living in a rented house and disturbed over the failure of his two businesses, losses and heavy debt. He first started cloth business at Shahalam Market, but after suffering losses, he began dealing in Indian cosmetics and artificial jewellery. He again suffered a loss and was unable even to pay rent of his house.

On Sunday, he shot himself to death when his wife and three children had gone to a nearby park.

The Manawan police said Anas Ahmad, 18, an intermediate student , quarrelled with his family over some issue after which he locked himself in his room and shot himself in his head.

His family after hearing the sound of the fire entered his room and found him dead in a pool of blood. He was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

In another incident, Dilawar, 28, committed suicide after taking poison in Badami Bagh. —Staff Reporter
