KARACHI: 418 cops promoted

KARACHI, July 8: As many as 198 police constables and 220 head constables have been promoted to the rank of head constable and assistant sub-inspector.

According to a statement issued by the police department on Sunday, Capital City Police Officer Azhar Ali Farooqi said the constables and head constables from all wings of operations, investigations and traffic had been considered for promotion on merit.

The CCPO made it clear that candidates, who had criminal cases against them, were not considered for promotions. However, the officials who considered themselves eligible for promotion and were left out could appeal with the CCPO office, the statement added.
