KARACHI, July 8: The internet bandwidth at the University of Karachi has been enhanced to 8Mb giving speedy access to audio and video conferencing.

This was stated by KU Main Communication Network Director Prof (Dr) S.M. Aqil Burney on Sunday.

He said the university’s communication network was one of the largest fibre optic networks in Pakistan. He thanked the vice-chancellor for his continuous support towards the development of the communication network.

Italian language course

The Italian Language and Cultural Centre of Karachi University will offer language course for beginners in the evening classes.

This was announced by Dr Silvia Dal Canton, in charge of the language centre. Classes for the 10-week course, designed purely for beginners, will be held twice a week.

Candidates have been advised to get the admission forms from the centre and submit the duly filled in forms till July 25. The classes will start from July 28.

MBBS suppl exam

The University of Karachi has announced examination schedule of third professional MBBS supplementary exams 2007.

According to KU notification, the paper of Pathology (New Course) and Pathology-II (Old Course) will be conducted on July 16, Community Medicine on 18th, Opthalmology (Eye) on 21st and ENT on 23rd.

All the failure candidates of Pathology-I (Old Course) have been asked to appear on July 25. The papers will be held at the Department of Sindhi from 2pm to 4:30pm.

Forms submission

The University of Karachi announced on Sunday that the examination forms and fee for BSc (Occupational Therapy) Part-I Supplementary Examination 2006 would be accepted from the candidates at their respective colleges till July 16 with Rs2,950 fee.—APP/PPI
