Published July 8, 2007

PESHAWAR, July 7: Water levels are falling in most rivers in the NWFP but a few rivers — including Kabul, Shah Alam and Chitral rivers — are still in high flood. According to the NWFP Flood Warning Centre, Kabul river was in high flood at Sardaryab on Saturday. Similarly, high flood was recorded in the Swat river at Khuzakhela.

Water level in the Indus was normal at Attock. Similar was the case for Kurram river at Thall and Kurram Garhi, and Gambila river and Kunhar river at Spinwam.

Lowering of water level was recorded in the Swat river at Khiali and Munda.—APP
