MANSEHRA, July 6: The clerics of Mansehra threatened on Friday that they would take out processions and block the main roads if the 37 arrested clerics and students of seminaries were not released soon.

The police is going to present the case of the arrested clerics and students before the anti-terrorism court in Abbottabad on Saturday, it is learnt.

While delivering Friday sermons, clerics in Mansehra and the adjoining areas demanded the release of their 37 colleagues who were arrested under the Anti-Terrorism Act on Tuesday.

They were arrested after a police checkpoint was set on fire and offices of some national and international NGOs and the Erra were ransacked in Ghazikot.

Maulana Waqar-ul-Haq Usman, Maulana Faizul Bari and Maulana Riazul Haq claimed that the clerics and students had been arrested without reason.
