SAHIWAL, July 5: Two women were killed by their brothers in separate incidents. In the first incident, Bahawal Sher and Shahmand murdered their sister Ghulam Fatima in Chak Murad Kay Kathia to grab her 72 kanals agricultural land about 20 days ago.

Harappa police said they attacked their sister with spades and killed her on June 14. They threw her body in a well from where they removed it and declared the death as accidental and buried her.

However, her cousin Musa Kathia suspected that she was murdered. He filed a petition in the court of district and session’s judge requesting exhumation of the body and postmortem examination.

The body was exhumed on the court orders and autopsy report confirmed that she was murdered.

Police registered a case on Thursday and arrested both the accused.

In the other incident, Liaquat and Gulzar allegedly clubbed their unmarried 45-year-old sister Sughran to death on suspicion of loose morals in Arazi Yaqoob village.

They suspected that Sughran had developed illicit relations with a youth, Ayub.

They heard a rumour that Sughran had planned to elope with Ayub. They attacked her with clubs and killed her on the spot.

Noorshah police have registered a case without any arrest.
