KARACHI, July 4: Jamhoori Watan Party leader Nawabzada Jamil Bugti said here on Wednesday that he was invited to participate in the all-parties conference in London but could not attend because he was told by relevant quarters that his name has been included in the ECL (exit control list).
Criticising the policies of the government regarding the relief measures in Balochistan, the son of slain Baloch leader Nawab Akbar Bugti said that though the cyclone and rainfall had caused massive destruction in the troubled province, the relief measures taken by the government were inadequate considering the extent of the disaster.
Jamil Bugti said that relief supplies still could not reach the marooned people in remote areas where communication links were broken, adding that under the present circumstances helicopters were the only effective means for the transportation of relief goods. He asked foreign donors to help out on this count.
Jamil Bugti alleged said the authorities had failed to provide relief supplies to displaced persons belonging to the Bugti tribe.
He criticised the prime minister’s statement that there was no need for any foreign aid.
