KARACHI, July 4: Normal shipping activity was witnessed at the port where two ships carrying containers and canola seeds were allotted berths at QICT and MPT, respectively, during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release.

Meanwhile, two more ships with containers ships and diesel oil arrived at the outer anchorage during the same period.

Berth occupancy remained at 50 per cent at the port where six ships occupied berths to load, unload containers, edible oil, canola seeds and iron ore, respectively, during the report period.

The port handled 57,646 tons comprising 43,570 tons imports and 14,076 tons exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 2,179 Teus during the period under review.

Three ships sailed out to the sea during the report period.
