LARKANA, July 2: The sessions court on Monday issued notices to the Shahdadkot-Qambar DCO, irrigation department chief engineer, mukhtiarkars of Qambar and taluka nazims of Qubo Saeed Khan and Shahdadkot to appear in the court on July 6 to offer explanation over recent breaches to a dyke and damages to saline water drains in the district.

The action was taken on a petition filed by a resident of Kachi Pul, Mohammed Ibrahim Khoso. He had stated in the petition that the authorities had made no efforts to plug the breaches occurring from June 26 to date.

He said that if these breaches were not plugged, the water would submerge Shahdadkot.

Mr Khoso also requested the court to order an inquiry into non-rehabilitation of Rabi Pul.
