Seven die in motorway car crash

SHEIKHUPURA, July 1: Ten people were killed while two others suffered injuries in two road accidents in the district suburbs on Sunday.

Reports said seven people hailing from Lahore and Manga Mandi died when their car (LRD-8529) dashed against a truck parked alongside the motorway near Faizpur interchange. They were making for Lahore from Islamabad.

Those killed included Malik Shaukat, 32, Imran, 25, Arshad Masiha, 30, Aslam, 20, Abdul Rehman, 40, and Mushtaq, 32. Another car occupant, Munir was injured. The factory area police are investigating.

In another accident, Tauseef, Zahid and Aslam were killed while another person was injured when their car collided head-on with an oncoming car on Gujranwala Road, about 12 kilometres from here. — Correspondent
