GLASGOW, June 30: Rain is threatening to ruin Pakistan cricket team’s short tour of Scotland. Pakistan play the home team at Edinburgh, Scotland’s second major city situated about 60 miles north of here, on Sunday and then take on India in the Prince Charles’s Charity match at Clydesdale Cricket Ground here on Tuesday.

However, there has been rain in the city since early morning with forecast for wet spell to linger on for at least another couple of days.

“Bring sunshine when you come back for the match (against India),” a ground official jokingly said to a player of the Pakistan squad which held a net session on Saturday to prepare for the two upcoming games.

The pitch was completely covered at the Clydesdale Cricket Ground and so was at Grange Cricket Ground, Raebun Place in Edinburgh.

“The communities from Pakistan and India are looking forward to a bright sunny day to see Pakistan play India at this ground,” said a Pakistani-origin man, Shahzad Ali. “There is great interest for the match among the people of the Sub-continent origin.” —APP
