LANDI KOTAL (Khyber Agency), June 30: One person was killed and six others were injured when supporters of two rival groups clashed in the Qambarkhel area of Bara on Saturday, sources said.

The sources said that supporters of the Haji Namdar group attacked the house of their rival Haji Moaweez.

The Haji Namdar group had issued a decree for demolition of Haji Moaweez’s house on their FM station on Friday evening.

The relatives and supporters of Haji Moaweez resisted the attackers which resulted in an exchange of fire. Haji Lal Baaz was killed in the crossfire and six other people, including two women and two children, were injured.

The Takia group, supporting Haji Moaweez, claimed that they had taken 10 of their opponents hostage.

The situation in the area was reported tense after the clash.
