KARACHI, June 30: Vice-Chancellor of the NED University of Engineering and Technology Abul Kalam has taken exception to the ‘undue interference’ by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) and Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners (PCATP) in the varsity’s affairs, and declared that such acts would not be tolerated.

He was presiding over a meeting of the university’s Senate.

Mr Kalam told the Senate that the HEC was interfering in the appointment of teachers whereas the PEC and PCATP in the functioning of the university.—Staff Reporter
