ISLAMABAD, June 29: Prize money worth Rs3.75 million on behalf of President General Pervez Musharraf has been distributed among the participating teams at the second Asian Central Zone Volleyball Championship that ended recently.

The championship was staged in Islamabad under the aegis of the Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF).

President Musharraf, during the inauguration ceremony of the event, had declared cash awards for the competing teams, Secretary PVF Major Mohammad Afzal told reporters on Friday.

He further said that apart from Rs0.75 million given to the fourth-placed Pakistan team, Rs1.5 million were awarded to the victorious Indian squad, Rs0.75 million to the Iranian team, Rs0.375 million to the Kazakhstan players and Rs0.375 million to the Sri Lankan contestants. –Agencies
