SWABI, June 29: A water filtration plant remains non-functional in the district in spite of being installed due to the Tehsil Municipal Administration’s refusal to release water.
Sources said the plant had been set up by the district government and there was a political rivalry between District Nazim Shahram Khan and Swabi Tehsil Nazim Hanif Gul Jadoon.
The district government had announced that it would install water plants in each of the 56 union councils of the area.
The project is aimed at providing potable water and preventing water-borne diseases.
