KARACHI, June 29: The Al-Khidmat Welfare Society has started relief work in the rain-affected goths of Gadap Town by setting up medical camp in Gajro and Jhanjar Goths. Doctors and paramedics are also providing medicines and referring serious gastroenteritis cases to the nearest hospitals, an Al-Khidmat press release said.

Cooked food was distributed among 3,000 people rendered homeless by last week’s thunderstorm in Lasi Goth, Yesrab Goth, Mohammadi Goth, Yousuf Goth, Machhar Colony and Al-Asif Square whereas food grain and raw food were provided to more than 100 people.

Meanwhile, the society on Friday completed a survey of 25 goths where it intended to carry out rehabilitation work.

It plans to undertake rebuilding of the damaged or flattened huts in Bin Qasim Town, Aachar Goth, Haji Fateh Goth, etc.
