LAKKI MARWAT, June 27: The residents of Kurram Par have called upon officials of the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) to fulfil their pledge of providing natural gas to their area.

Local leaders reiterated their demand at a meeting held here on Wednesday.

The former nazim of the union council Paharkhel Thall, Abdul Qadus, presided over the meeting. They said the SNGPL officials had promised to provide four union councils of trans-river Kurram belt with natural gas following protest demonstrations the area people had held on Indus Highway a couple of months ago.

They regretted that all such promises of the department proved false as no development was made so far. They appealed to president, prime minister and NWFP chief minister to direct the officials concerned to allocate funds for the project.—Bureau
