Robbers Shoot constable

GUJRAT, March 5: Three robbers killed a head-constable and injured a constable in the area of Shaheen Chowki on Tuesday evening.

Police said the robbers intercepted three women returning from a marriage function in Mohalla Ferozabad and forced them to remove their jewellery.

In the meantime, head-constable Muhammad Nawaz and constable Muhammad Asghar of Rescue 15 reached there on a motorbike and tried to catch the outlaws. The later opened fire that left Nawaz dead and Asghar seriously wounded. Ayub Dar, a passerby, also sustained injuries.

They were admitted to the local DHQ Hospital in precarious condition.
