LAHORE, June 25: The provincial assembly on Monday passed the Punjab Finance Bill of 2007. Punjab Finance Minister Hasnain Bahadur Dareshak presented the bill in the house while Speaker Afzal Sahi was in the chair.

The minister laid the schedule of authorised expenditure for the year 2007-08.

The session also passed the Punjab Destitute and Neglected Children (First Amendment) Bill of 2007.

Law minister Basharat Raja moved the bill in the house. He also introduced the Punjab Forensic Science Agency Bill of 2007.

Speaker Sahi referred the bill for report to the standing committee by July 1. The house will meet again on Tuesday at 10am.

FATEHA: The assembly also offered Fateha for those people who lost their lives in devastating rains in Karachi.

The house also prayed for courage to the bereaved families to bear the loss with fortitude and courage.—APP
