Nine hurt as roof caves in

FAISALABAD, June 24: At least nine people, five of them children, suffered injuries when the roof of a house caved in at Mahmoodabad locality in Mansoorabad police station precinct on Sunday.

Reports said Bashir Khan and his family, together with some guests, had been enjoying meals on the roof of the house. Suddenly the roof collapsed as a result of which five children — Abdullah, 10, Siraj, 6, Nadia, 10, Usman, 4 and Ahmad, 4 — and four women — Sakina Bibi, Bilqees Bibi, Shela Bibi and Firdaus Bibi — were injured.

Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the spot and removed the injured to the Allied hospital. The condition of two of the children was stated to be critical.
