UPPER DIR, June 24: A woman was killed and another person seriously injured in an attack over a land dispute in Noor Khelo, Barawal, residents and police told Dawn on Sunday.

According to the Barawal police, the incident took place at 9am on Sunday when one Dost Qadir, accompanied by three accomplices, invaded the house of his rivals Yar Mohammad and Gul Rehman and opened indiscriminate fire as a result of which Bakht Mina, the wife of Yar Mohammad, was killed on the spot, while Azizur Rehman, son of Gul Rehman, was seriously wounded.

The residents of the house retaliated and wounded Dost. Qadir was later shifted to the DHQ hospital Timergara where police arrested him.

Gul has lodged an FIR with the Barawal Bandi police station and nominated Dost and his three accomplices in it.
