KARACHI: Mosque issue

Published June 25, 2007

KARACHI, June 24: A delegation of the Tahafuz Masajid Action Committee called on Home Secretary Brig (retd) Ghulam Mohammad Mohtaram at his office and apprised him about public unrest after issuances of notices to raze some mosques in the city.

The delegation, led by Mufti Mohammad Naeem, apprised the home secretary of the facts about Allah Wali Mosque. The mosque was neither a part of road encroachment nor a cause of hardships for citizens, they said.

They alleged that the North Nazimabad town nazim was providing false information to the authorities. Brig (retd) Mohtaram assured them that their problems would soon be solved.—PPI
