GUJRAT, June 23: Former MNA Chaudhry Mubashar Husain, the son of Chaudhry Tajamal Husain (also an ex-MNA) and a close relative of Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi and Chaudhry Shujaat Husain, is likely to join the PML-N in the first week of the next month.

Sources close to the family told Dawn that Mubashar Husain had met PML-N’s exiled leader Mian Nawaz Sharif at Dubai and London and agreed to join his party. In return, Nawaz Sharif had promised to give him party ticket from NA-107 in the next elections, sources said.

They said Mubashar, after consultation with his father, had taken the decision following denial of the PML ticket by the high command. They said Mubashar was going to make a formal announcement about joining the PML-N on July 2 at a function to be held at Nayyer Industries.

Before becoming NA-107, this constituency was a part of NA-82 — the native constituency of the late Syed Manzoor Husain Shah and the late Haji Asghar Kaira. Results of elections held in the past showed that the constituency was a stronghold of the PML. — Correspondent
