KARACHI, June 22: The outgoing commercial counsellor of the People’s Republic of China, Zhao Qingmao, has urged the Pakistani exporters to explore and enter into the growing Chinese market to increase Pakistan’s exports to China.

“The Chinese Consulate can provide all assistance in this regard,” the outgoing Chinese commercial counsellor said while talking to the acting president of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, A. Abdullah Zaki, during his farewell visit to the chamber. The incoming commercial counselor of China, Wang Qihui, accompanied him.

Zhao Qingmao said bilateral economic relations between Pakistan and China are increasing at a brisk pace. However, trade deficit of Pakistan with China is a matter of concern and needed serious efforts on the part of Pakistani exporters.

Zhao Qingmao said that the economy of Pakistan is growing at a fast pace and infrastructure is being developed to meet the future requirements. He was delighted to note that Chinese companies were making huge investment to improve and develop the country's infrastructure.

Responding to a question about Chinese cooperation in energy sector, Zhao Qingmao mentioned that Chinese collaboration in the setting up a coal-fired power plant.—APP
