Chattha to contact PML factions

Published March 5, 2002

LAHORE, March 4: Hamid Nasir Chattha says he will contact all factions of the PML, including the one led by Mian Azhar, in an attempt to unify them.

However, the PML(C) president said while talking to reporters on Monday a decision on unification would be taken in the light of response he got from other groups.

Functional Muslim League President Pir Pagara has entrusted the task of contacts with other groups to Mr Chattha.

Meanwhile, a Millat Party delegation, led by secretary-general Muhammad Ali Durrani, called on Pir Pagara on Monday and exchanged views about the political situation.

Former minister Mian Zahid Sarfraz also met the FML chief.
