‘Human trafficker’ arrested

KARACHI, June 19: A man allegedly involved in human trafficking was arrested by law-enforcement personnel at the Quaid-i-Azam International Airport when he sought to board a Muscat-bound flight on Tuesday night.

Rasheed was travelling on a fake passport in the name of Mohammad Naeem along with a woman identified as Firdous Begum and a boy identified as Nadir.

An FIA official said the couple were travelling on fake identities. “Rasheed Ahmed has been blacklisted by the UAE for his involvement in the trafficking of camel kids,” he said.

Rasheed married Firdous whose husband Naeem died some nine years ago. In 2004, he acquired an NIC and a passport in the name of Mohammad Naeem and resumed his old business of human trafficking, he said.
