BAHAWALPUR, June 16: Ten local activists of opposition parties, who were released from the Dera Ghazi Khan jail on Saturday, reached here the same day. They were detained last week for three months under the maintenance of public order.

PPP office-bearers, who wanted to address a press conference, escaped from the scene when police raided there to arrest them.

TOBA TEK SINGH: The Punjab Home Department on Saturday withdrew its order regarding the three-month detention of local PPP activist Zulfiqar Ali.

Police had arrested him last week to restrain him from according a welcome to Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry in Faisalabad.
